Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Este trabalho é de minha (nossa) autoria, é original, inédito, cita e identifica devidamente as fontes e seus autores, não utiliza de plágio ou fere direitos autorais, é exclusivo (não está sendo avaliado para publicação por outra revista), e segue as normas e regras acadêmicas fundamentais da ética em publicação.
  • O/A primeiro/a autor/a é doutorando/a ou doutor/a. Máximo de 3 coautores/as.
  • A identificação de autoria do trabalho foi removida do arquivo e da opção Propriedades no Word, garantindo o critério de sigilo da revista para avaliação por pares. Instruções em Assegurando a Avaliação Cega por Pares.
  • O arquivo da submissão está em formato Microsoft Word, OpenOffice ou RTF.
  • Onde disponível, os URLs para as referências foram fornecidos.
  • O texto está em espaço simples; usa fonte Georgia tamanho 12-pontos; emprega itálico em vez de sublinhado (exceto em endereços URL); as figuras e tabelas estão inseridas no texto, não no final do documento na forma de anexos.
  • O texto segue os padrões de estilo e requisitos bibliográficos descritos em Diretrizes para Autores, na página Sobre a Revista.

Author Guidelines

Publication Criteria

 

We evaluate manuscripts:

 

From doctoral students from any HEI (Higher Education Institution);

From PhD graduates from any HEI;

In Portuguese, English, Spanish, or Italian. The text will be published in its original language;

That are unpublished and address a topic relevant to the field of Religious Studies and Theology;

That focus on the phenomenon of religion, especially from a critical perspective;

Formatted according to the submission rules;

Received within the established deadline when submitted as a dossier or presented for the “Articles” section on a rolling basis.

Maximum of three co-authors.

 

File type

General rules

 

- Georgia font;

 

- Size 12;

 

- Single line spacing (1.0) and zero spacing between paragraphs;

 

- Paragraphs with initial indentation of 1.25 cm

 

- A4 page size;

 

- Margins 2.5 cm.

 

- 4,000 to 7,000 words.

 

Development standards

 

- Title and subtitle centered in bold (in English and Spanish, on the following line, without bold, size 12), on the first line of the first page, only the first letter of the title and the first letter of proper names in uppercase, size 14;

 

- Authorship: do not include authorship information in the file. This information should ONLY appear in the user's profile in the DAVAR journal (Profile; Contact; Signature). After approval, it will be added in a footnote, including: highest degree, institutional affiliation, professional email, ORCID, and Lattes ID;

 

- Abstract in Portuguese, 150 words (focus on the methodological elements of the research), single paragraph, justified alignment;

- Keywords: three to five, separated by periods.

- Abstract and Keywords (ensure a professional technical translation) and Resumen/palabras clave in Spanish

- Introduction (present the topic and methodological elements in continuous text: objective, problem, hypothesis, theoretical framework, methodology, and present the division into sections, with a summary of each). The title Introduction in bold, without numbering, justified, size 12.

- Section titles in bold, numbered in Arabic numerals, size 12, justified;

- Conclusion (return to the central question and show how it was answered, analyze how the hypothesis behaved in the end, point out possible consequences of the study. Title in bold, justified, size 12, without numbering.

- Direct quotations: up to three lines, in quotation marks in the body of the text. More than three lines, indented 2 cm on the left and right and font size 11; If the quotation is a translation by the author of the text, the original text must be included in a footnote and the reference to the quotation must include the phrase “our translation.”

 

- Author-date reference system in the body of the text: Template: Last name (year, p. x) and (Last name, year, p. x-y).

- Only essential explanations should be included in footnotes.

- References:

In the final list of references, they should be presented in alphabetical order;
Each reference should be written in Georgia 11 font, justified and with single spacing (1.0);
Spacing between paragraphs should be 6 points between each reference;
Do not use dashes to repeat surnames;
The name of the book or journal should be in italics.
If there is a coincidence of surnames of authors indicated in the references and used in the citations: add the initials of the first name: (Silva, F., 2023) and (Silva, G., 2023). If the coincidence persists, write the first names in full: (Silva, Fabrício, 2023) and (Silva, Gabriela, 2023);
In the case of more than one author, separate them with semicolons (;): (Silva; Alves; Ferreira; 2023);
In the case of more than three authors, it is recommended to use et al only in the body of the text, maintaining the reference to the first author. Example: (Silva et al, 2023, p. 15); However, in the list of references, all authors must be presented.
If the author has several works with the same date, insert lowercase letters to identify and separate the years with commas (,): Alves (2023a, 2023b, 2023c) or (Alves, 2023a, 2023b, 2023c);
Do not use ibid, ibidem, or other similar terms.
When using the expression apud (cited by), always use italics.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables must be numbered and named (Title, font size 11, not bold); accompanied by a footnote indicating the source (font size 10). If the author of the source is the same as the author of the article, write: Source: the author(s) themselves.

 


Articles will be sent to two reviewers in accordance with the evaluation policy and, when necessary, a third reviewer may be requested. Based on these evaluations, the Editorial Board will make its decision. If the manuscript has parts published in any medium (including conference proceedings) that exceed the 25% self-plagiarism limit, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the submission in pre-evaluation.

All authors who receive mandatory or suggested corrections for their texts must correct them according to the evaluations within 20 days.

 


Reviews

Pages: minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 pages.
Title and textual elements: follow the same model presented for article submissions; however, reviews should not include abstracts or keywords. In general, it is recommended not to use footnotes (except in cases such as possible translations) or to cite works other than the one being analyzed.
The book to be reviewed should not have been published more than 3 years ago.

Publica artigos científicos originais com temas livres, de pesquisadores/as doutores/as (incluindo doutorandos/as), em conformidade com os Descritores de DAVAR, das áreas de Teologia, Filosofia e Ciências da Religião, incluindo as diversas Ciências Humanas, Sociais e Sociais Aplicadas, ou mesmo de outros campos da ciência, na abordagem de questões de fronteira com a religião e discussões sobre o fenômeno religioso, as teologias e problemas de natureza filosófico-religiosa. 

Resenhas e recensões/Book reviews

É um resumo crítico, por especialista, do conteúdo de um livro, avaliando e emitindo opinião, apresentando breve resumo e informações sobre a autoria e a temática. Aceita-se também resenha de filmes e artes plásticas.

Tamanho entre 3 e 5 laudas (até 10.000 caracteres com espaços) e apresentar: nome do autor do livro (e tradutor, se relevante), título, cidade, editora, ano da publicação, número de páginas e, se houver,  título do livro traduzido para o inglês.  Os elementos de identificação do autor da resenha serão registrados nos metadados, na submissão: filiação institucional, resumo da biografia e titulação máxima, e-mail, endereço para correspondência. As resenhas são avaliadas por membro da Comissão, pelo editor de seção e editor.

As resenhas devem se referir a obras recentes com no máximo 2 anos de publicação. No caso de livros publicados em lingua estrangeira esse tempo poderá ser reavaliado pelos editores.

“Aprender a Fazer”

Foco na publicação de produtos técnicos (produto, projeto ou processo desenvolvido) no âmbito da Área Ciência da Religião e Teologia (CAPES) e Teologia (CNPq) e afins, com atenção para as subáreas Ciência da Religião Aplicada e Teologia Prática. Deve expressar vínculo com ambientes socioeducativos, formais ou não formais, organizações ecumênicas ou inter-religiosas, governamentais ou não governamentais, movimentos sociais e outros espaços de atuação profissional na área e afins. Inclui: sequência didática, material didático-pedagógico e instrucional, manuais, produção artística, modelo de gestão, aplicativo computacional, programas de mídia, jogo, vídeo, conjunto de videoaulas, equipamento, exposição, projeto de extensão, projeto de inserção social, consultorias/assessorias técnicas para organizações públicas/privadas, estudos de casos, relatório técnico, relatos de experiência, produtos educacionais, propostas de interação com a educação básica ou outros setores da sociedade.

Serão publicados produtos que passaram por banca de Teses e Dissertações em programas stricto sensu.
